It took me a long time to come to terms with the fact that I was gay. It wasn’t until I turned 30 that I had come to accept my sexuality. I then had to embark upon the difficult process of coming out to family and friends. I knew that my friends and family would be supportive of me but that didn’t make the procedure of coming out any easier.

In this first episode of the season I talk about my coming out story and why I decided to create this podcast. There are contributions from my sister who was living with me in the time leading up to my coming out, my parents and my brother who whose background in the Royal Navy made my coming out to him a little more difficult.
